No Plastic Bags in Commingle Collection Carts!
They Clog Up Our System!

clogged-up systemPlease never put plastic bags—such as grocery and retail bags, protective newspaper bags, and sandwich sacks—in the commingle bins! They cause big problems at our recycling recovery facility. These bags clog up the equipment by wrapping around gears and wheels.

However, we can now accept clean and dry plastic bags and shrink wrap, but only at the Recycling Center (Water St.), and more about recycling plastic and shrink wrap, click herethey must be put into their specially-marked blue bins (see right), never mixed in commingle!

To reduce the number of plastic bags at home, switch to durable, reusable bags for your trips to the store. Keep durable bags stored in your car or bike for easy access when shopping.

Thanks for your cooperation, and spread the word!
