blue binWhat Goes in the Bin?

Not sure what goes in the bin? Check below!
¿Que va en la tina? versión española

VERY Important: No Plastic Bags in Commingle Bins! They Clog Up Our System!
Plastic bags, such as grocery and retail bags, protective newspaper bags, & sandwich sacks, cause BIG problems at our recycling recovery facility. These bags clog up the equipment by wrapping around gears and wheels. To reduce the number of plastic bags at home, switch to durable, reusable bags for your trips to the store. Keep durable bags stored in your car or bike for easy access when shopping.

YES!
  • glass
  • used motor oil
NO!
  • No plastic bags!
  • No corks!
  • No metal lids!

(but metal lids are recyclable, so put in commingle cart!)

Special Rules for Glass & Motor Oil:
Because of our semi-automated collection method, glass and used motor oil cannot be recycled in your commingled roll-cart. The blue bin is now exclusively used for glass and motor oil. Do not put your glass inside plastic bags!

glass & motor oil go in blue bin

Important Note: Put the used motor oil in a plastic container with a screw-top lid. Make sure it is well-sealed.
