Residential Green Debris Program

Recology Ashland Sanitary Service Green Debris Cart New "Easier Than Ever" Yard Debris Program
Effective immediately, customers will no longer be required to sign a 12-month agreement to participate in our Green Debris program. This is a great way to deal with green debris disposal year-round, and to keep organics out of the trash and our landfills. Green debris carts may be used for lawn clippings, plant trimmings, leaves, and other plant materials (if it grows, it goes). Branches must be less than three (3) inches in diameter, and must fit inside the cart provided. Eligible customers include those within the city limits of Ashland or Talent, as well as those within the urban growth boundaries of both cities.

Green Debris is used in a number of recycling processes, such as composting. Green Debris recycling produces rich compost which can be used by local residents and farmers, rather than going to waste in a landfill.

Ashland Rates:
The cost for this service is $6.07 per month.

Talent Rates:
The cost for this service is $5.65 per month.

Your Green Debris roll-cart can be used for grass clippings, leaves, weeds, plant prunings, brush and woody material, up to 2" in diameter, and 36" long. DO NOT place green debris in plastic bags. Material cannot stick out cart and lid must be able to shut completely and lie flat.

Important Green Debris Notes!
  • Plastic bags must not be placed inside your green cart.
  • Tree and shrub prunings must be cut small enough to fit inside the cart with the lid completely closed.
  • Please, do not place items on top of the cart.
Unacceptable Green Debris Materials
Please do not place the following materials into your Green Debris container!
Construction Debris
  • Concrete, rocks, dirt, asphalt
Electronic / Universal Waste
  • Televisions, computers, cell phones, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury switches
Garbage
  • Un-recyclable items
Household Hazardous Waste
  • Paints, solvents, motor oil, cleaners, corrosives, used syringes
Organic Material
  • Animal feces or manure, painted or treated lumber, plywood or particle board
Recyclable Material
  • Recyclable glass, metal, paper and plastic

November & December Leaf Recycling Opportunity 2011

Please keep leaves out of the landfill and from clogging the storm drains to our streams. We will compost leaves for you.
Recology Ashland Sanitary Service Electronic Pre-Paid Leaf Recycling Come to the Recology Ashland Sanitary Service office at 170 Oak Street in Ashland to purchase five Pre-paid bags for $14.50.

Talent & Ashland residents: have a limited discount on bags from October 24, 2011 - November 4, 2011 thanks to City of Talent, City of Ashland Public Works & the Conservation Commission. This discount is for five bags @ $10 with a two package limit. This discount is for those living inside the urban growth boundary only.

This program is for those who cannot access the Free Leaf Drop Off - Sundays November 6th, 20th & December 4th at the Recycling Center from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

These pre-paid bags are for leaves only. There is a 35 pound limit. Bags will be picked up curbside only. Customers must live within the urban growth boundaries of Talent and Ashland. Leaf bags will NOT be accepted at the Transfer Station. No plastic bags with leaves for composting.

Leftover bags may be used again next year at this time.

Please place your pre-paid leaf bags curbside in November and December only. Put your leaf bags out on trash pick up day during *GREEN DEBRIS week.
